What we store in your browser
Two small records that never leave your browser and identify no one: “lng” in localStorage — the language you chose (appears only after you explicitly switch it and stays until you clear the site's data) and “preloaded” in sessionStorage — a flag that the welcome screen has already been shown this visit (gone when the tab closes). Neither is transmitted to us or to anyone else.
Third-party cookies
Cloudflare, whose infrastructure the site's traffic passes through, may set strictly technical security cookies (typically “__cf_bm”, valid for about 30 minutes) used to tell real visitors from automated attacks. Embedded videos use the youtube-nocookie.com domain, which sets no cookies until you press play; the Google Maps map on the TANDEM page may set Google cookies once you interact with it. Those cookies are governed by Cloudflare's and Google's own policies.
How to control them
You can block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings. The site works fully without them — at most it will forget your chosen language.
